Abstract

Abstract Introduction: Body image is an important developmental concern in adolescents and youth. Today, considering the cultural invasions by the Western societies in this age group, evaluating of body image seems necessary. According to its fundamental role in the creation of community health promotion and self-esteem among youth, so this study was conducted aimed to determine predictors of body image dissatisfaction among students of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we assessed 394 students of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences. Students completed two-part questionnaire (socio-demographic characteristics, BSQ). The Data were analyzed with descriptive and deductive statistic methods (Generalized Linear Models) at p<0.05 using SPSSv.16 software. Results: Mean of BSQ scores was 66.75 ± 29.80.The 288 students (72.2%) reported body image satisfaction and frequency of body image dissatisfaction was as mild (17.8%), moderate (8.5%), severe (1.5%). In univariate analyses, body image score mean was statistically related to BMI (r= 0.227, p<0.001). In regression analysis, gender (p<0.042), BMI (p<0.001) and weight decreasing diet (p<0.027) were related to Body image dissatisfaction. Conclusion: Regarding to this fact that girls are more dissatisfied with their body image compared with boys, interventional studies is recommended in increasing of body image satisfaction in this group that have a essential role in strength and survival of their families and communities. Also, due to the significant relationship between body mass index and body image dissatisfaction may be providing of education programs and sports facilities in a university setting and dormitory can improve students’ body image satisfaction. Keywords: Body image dissatisfaction, Student, Medical sciences. چکیده مقدمه: تصوير ذهني از بدن، نگراني تكاملي مهم در نوجوانان و جوانان مي باشد. بررسی تصویر ذهنی از بدن باتوجه به نقش اساسی آن در ایجاد عزت نفس در بین جوانان و ارتقای سلات جامعه ضروری به نظر می رسد؛ لذا مطالعه حاضر با هدف تع يين پیش بینی کننده های نارضایتی از تصوير ذهني از بدن در دانشجويان دانشگاه علوم پزشكي قزوين انجام شد. روش ها: در این مطالعه مقطعی، 394 دانشجو با تکمیل پرسشنامه ای دو بخشی شامل اطلاعات فردی و پرسشنامه شکل بدن BSQ( ( در دانشگاه علوم پزشکی قزوین درسال 1391 بررسی شدند. تجزیه و تحلیل داده ها با استفاده از نرم افزار آماری ( Version .16 SPSS ) و آمار توصیفی و آمار استنباطی )مدل های تعمیم یافته خطی( با در نظر گرفتن سطح معنی داری 05 / p>0 صورت گرفت. یافته ها: میانگین نمره تصویر ذهنی از بدن در کل دانشجویان 80 / 29 ± 75 / 66 بود. 288 دانشجو ) 2/ 72 %( رضایت از تصویر ذهنی، 71 نفر ) 8/ 17 %( نارضایتی خفیف، 31 نفر نارضایتی متوسط ) 5/ 8%( و 6 نفر ) 5/ 1%( نارضایتی شدید از تصویر دهنی از بدن خود داشتند. در تجزیه و تحلیل تک متغیری فقط میانگین نمره تصویر ذهنی از بدن با شاخص توده بدنی ) 227 / r =0 و 001 / P>0 ( از نظر آماری مرتبط بود؛ درحالیکه در تجزیه و تحلیل رگرسیونی جنس ) 042 / P>0 (، شاخص توده بدنی ) 001 / P>0 (، نوع رژیم غذایی )کاهش وزن( ) 027 / P>0 ( با نارضایتی از تصویر ذهنی بدنی مرتبط بودند. نتیجه گیری: با در نظر گرفتن این مسئله که در مقایسه با پسران، دختران نارضایتی بیشتری از تصویر ذهنی از بدن خود دارند لذا مطالعات مداخله ای در افزایش رضایت از تصویر ذهنی در این گروه که نقش اساسی در استحکام و بقای خانواده و جامعه خود دارند پیشنهاد می شود. همچنین با توجه به رابطه معنی دار بین شاخص توده بدنی و نارضایتی از تصویر بدنی شاید بتوان با اجرای برنامه های آموزشی و تهیه امکانات ورزشی در محیط دانشگاه و خوابگاه در افزایش رضایت از تصویر ذهنی دانشجویان کوشید. کلید واژه ها: نارضایتی از تصویر ذهنی، دانشجو، علوم پزشکی.
