Abstract
Introduction: Traditional medicine is the sum total of the knowledge about alternative medicine treatments and interventions which believe to the temperament. Studies shown that each of the humours are naturally certain influence on appetite. Also changes in the quality and quantity of temperament can cause changes in the energy and calories. Although the increasing tendency to use traditional medicine, few studies in the field of health knowledge to carry out nutritional advice, nutrition and sleep in lifestyle check is done. The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between temperament with nutrition status, sleep duration, and Material & Methods: This cross sectional study has been performed on 300 patients referred to specialist clinics Temperament, Tehran, Iran (2015). The data was analyzed with SPSS version 16 using chi-square tests, T-tests, ANOVA, logistic regression and Spearman correlation. Findings: Temperament including: temperament (2.3%), moisture temperament (44%), cold chord temperament (14.3%), temperament worm and dry (27.7%), temperament col and dry (11.7%). In the present study significant differences weren’t observed between temperament and BMI (p=0.2). Average hours of sleep were more in the temperament warm. Also there isn’t asignificant correlation between temperament and calorie intake (p= 0.9) and according to the highest average calorie intake bowel cold and dry temperament and lowest average calorie intake is moderate in temperament. Results: According to the findings, we can conclude that in view of the temperament can be an influential factor for improving the quality of life and proper nutrition. But a prerequisite for this is that training should be given to individuals in the field of health and nutrition, to each person according to their temperaments have proper nutrition which seeks to improve the quality of sleep and generally to improve the qualityof life of the people.
