Abstract: Introduction: Job stress is one of the most common job problems and a serious threat to the health of the workforce in the world. Midwives working in the maternity ward experience a high level of stress in their job lives, so the use of preventive and effective methods is essential. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effect of Benson's relaxation on job stress among midwives working in Qazvin's Delivery ward. Methods: This quasi-experimental study was carried out before and after method on the midwives working in hospitals in Qazvin in 2018. 63 of midwives working in the delivery ward and have at least one year of working were entered into the study with rotation shifts with their informed consent by available method. After training, the samples performed Benson's relaxation technique twice a day for 4 weeks. Job stress was measured before and after intervention using standard questionnaires of job stress (HSE). Data were analyzed by SPSS software version 24 and by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, T-test and wilcoxon. Findings: The age average of the participants in the study was 34.92 ± 7.34 years. The average of total job stress score in midwifes before and after intervention was 120.7 ± 14.5 and 124.6 ± 14.7. This difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Result: This study showed that Benson relaxation technique could be effective in reducing occupational stress of midwives working in the delivery ward as an adaptive, excitement circuit method. Key words: Benson relaxation, job stress, midwife, maternity ward.
